One-A-Day 11/22/2009 – From Sandcastles To New Moon

November 22, 2009

Hey Everybody, Just Poppin’ In To Say What’s Up You Crazy Fans Of Ours. We tagged Farmville and Boom! traffic like whoa. It’s almost like Shakira was streaking along US-1, but anyway let me cut to the chase here, and hopefully we’ll get a few comments this weekend, since New Moon is sucking the blood out of most of you. (Sucking the blood, get it vampire joke, ha-ha). Ok so what exactly do sandcastles have to do with Food? Well its November 21st and the weather here in New York is just wonderful, today it was like 60 degrees and sunny, not a cloud in the sky and the moon it was certainly new. I think those guys at NASA played with it, or maybe they just changed a lightbulb. So I went for a run earlier today and saw a few children building a sandcastle in a tide pool and I thought to myself, “If I were them and I was hungry, what would I like to eat…and then I thought boom! A sand-wich!” So for all my sandcastle building, New Moon watching, Robert Pattinson loving fans, this one is for you..It’s extra bloody too.

“Vampires Love Me -Wich”

Here’s What You’ll Need – And Trust Me It Can All Be Found At Your Local Grocer.

  1. (1) Bag Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips
  2. (1) Sliced Rye Bagel
  3. (1) 1/4 lb of sliced chicken breast (deli sliced)
  4. (2) slices Aged Cheddar Cheese
  5. (2) Roasted Red Peppers
  6. (1) 1/2 Tsp Sugar
  7. (1) Tsp Hot Sauce
  8. (1) Tsp Soy Sauce
  9. (1) Tsp Horse Radish
  10. (1) Tsp Ketchup
  11. (1) Small Bowl
  12. (1) Small Whisk
  13. (1) Butter Knife
  14. (1) Plate

Now that our tools are sorted out – and if you notice there’s no Garlic in this one, since we’re keeping with the weekends vampire theme, let’s get started.

  1. On your plate lay the bagel flat sides facing up, and push it aside for a minute.
  2. Next, in your bowl add the sugar, hot sauce, soy sauce, horseradish, and ketchup (in that order).
  3. Whisk for about a minute until you begin to see an emulsified condiment.
  4. Grab the bread we pushed aside earlier, and with your butter knife gently spread your “Vampire Sauce” on to it.
  5. Next, place the sliced chicken breast on the left slice of the bagel.
  6. Then, place the Aged Cheddar on the right side of the bagel.
  7. Put the halves together, and with your knife slice the sandwich in half.
  8. Open the bag of chips, and sink your teeth in.

Hey it’s been real, until my next “One-A-Day”…Peace Out – Hatter
